Institutional Research and Analytics (IRA) completes an array of institutional reports required by the Commonwealth of Virginia and the federal government.
The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) collects data from colleges and universities for strategic planning and policy development purposes and to educate the public. Information available about the University of Virginia includes: admissions and enrollment rates for undergraduates and graduates; undergraduate enrollment by locality; trends in degree completions over time; graduation rates with breakdowns by family income; number of transfer students per year, from where they transferred, and their graduation rates; debt by degree level; average wage by degree level; and general tuition and fees.
The Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) houses data collected annually by the Department of Education’s National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) as mandated by Congress. Information available about the University of Virginia includes: estimated tuition and fees and other student expenses by year; financial aid including the number of undergraduate students receiving aid, the type of aid received, and amounts; undergraduate and graduate enrollment rates by full-time or part-time status, gender, race/ethnicity, age, and residence; admissions rates; retention and graduation rates; degree recipients by majors and programs; number of students receiving military benefits or assistance; varsity athletic team breakdowns; and accreditation and campus security.

IRA also provides information to the following associations consistent with research requests, annual reporting requirements, or accreditation requirements:
Association of American Universities (AAU); a consortium of 62 leading research universities in the United States and Canada.
Association of American Universities Data Exchange; formed specifically to “improve the quality and usability of information about higher education” through sharing of data among AAU institutions.
Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC); the accrediting body for the University of Virginia as well as 10 other states in the southern region. Please review the Institutional Accreditation section of IRA's web site for additional information.
