University Requirements

Institutional Research and Analytics is responsible for coordinating the review and approval process for various programmatic and academic initiatives, including:

  • creating a new degree or certificate program
  • closing a degree or certificate program
  • modifying the CIP code, delivery method, number of credits, or location of a degree or certificate program
  • changing a concentration, minor, or track of a degree program
  • adding an external partner to a create a dual or joint degree program
  • creating, closing, or changing the name of a department
  • creating a new school
  • creating a new branch campus
  • initiating academic programs at an off-site location

Certain actions affect the content of the Undergraduate and Graduate Records. New degree programs or a name change for an existing degree program generally may only have an effective date in the fall term. New interdisciplinary majors or a name change for an existing interdisciplinary major may only have an effective date in the fall term.
