Data & Analytics refers to the management of data for all operational and analytical uses to drive institutional activity and improve outcomes through more effective decision-making and enhanced experiences. In collaboration with administrative units and schools, Institutional Research and Analytics serves a critical enterprise data & analytics role at UVA, leading both institutional reporting & analytics and the data governance program.
University Data
Find publicly available visualizations for student, employee, and institutional data in the areas of admissions, enrollment, graduation and retention rates, and more.
University Business Intelligence
UBI is UVA's enterprise reporting environment, with tools that support the University's needs for transactional reports, managerial reports, and executive dashboards.
Common Data Set
The University of Virginia participates in the Common Data Set (CDS) initiative. Participants include colleges and universities in the higher education community and publishers as represented by the College Board, Peterson's, and U.S. News & World Report.
Survey Data
Institutional Research and Analytics administers select institutional surveys each year to students and periodically to faculty and/or alumni.

The program's mission is to implement, operate, and continuously improve a framework of people, practices, and systems that promote timely, trusted data for decision-making and responsible use of data.
Analytics Resources
Analytics is the discovery, interpretation, and communication of significant patterns in data by providing information and insights we might not otherwise detect.
