All online UBI courses are available to enroll and complete in Workday.  See specific instructions below.

UBI Reports

If you do not currently have UBI access, please follow the instructions to request access in Workday. You'll need to complete BOTH an access request and training to get access to UBI initially.

Course Descriptions and Offerings

Training is a priority for the UBI Team.  A library of topical resources in the Data and Analytics Community provides ongoing, just-in-time support to users. The UBI training offerings include:

Intro to UBI - Finance Data & Analytics

Course Description: 
This course provides an overview of University Business Intelligence (UBI) with a focus on navigation and functionality.

Course Objectives:

  • The purpose of UBI.
  • The two UBI platforms for running reports.
  • Logging onto and navigating the UBI Portal.
  • Searching for and selecting filters to run reports.
  • Exporting data from reports.
  • Creating and applying bookmarks for commonly used filters.
  • Finding available support resources.

Format: 
This course is offered in an online format.  The Finance Data & Analytics course reviews the navigation and functionality of reports on the UBI Analytics (Qlik Sense) platform. 
NOTE: Most of the UBI Reporting (QlikView) Finance modules are used for historical data purposes only (prior to 7/1/2022).  If you'd like to review navigation and functionality of the UBI Reporting (QlikView) Finance modules, please contact the UBI team via email ([email protected]).

Audience: 
New UBI users.

NOTE: Current UBI users, who have already completed a previous UBI training course, are not required to complete more training in order to receive access to additional UBI apps through a new access role.

  1. Locate the course through the Learning application in Workday.
  2. Click to enroll through Workday Learning.
  3. Click Enroll.

Intro to UBI - Student Data & Analytics

Course Description: 
This course provides an overview of University Business Intelligence (UBI) with a focus on navigation and functionality for both UBI Analytics (Qlik Sense) and UBI Reporting (QlikView) apps.

UBI Analytics Refresher

Course Description: 
If you're just starting to use UBI Analytics (Qlik Sense) but it has been a while since you've completed training, or you just need a little refresher on navigation and functionality, then this session is for you.

Course Objectives:

  • Navigating UBI and choosing selections.
  • Working in reports.
  • When to use Bookmarks vs. My sheets.
  • Creating and applying bookmarks.
  • Other tips and tricks.

Format: 
This workshop will be offered in an asynchronous format via Zoom.

Audience: 
All UBI users.

Prerequisites: 
Anyone with a Finance or Student access role who uses UBI Analytics (Qlik Sense) apps.

How to Enroll:

  1. Locate the course through the Learning application in Workday.
  2. Click to enroll through Workday Learning.
  3. Click Select Offering.
  4. If current offering times are available:
    1. Select the offering time you want to attend.
    2. Click OK.
    3. Click Submit to enroll.
  5. If current offerings are not available, or are already full:
    1. Enroll in the waitlist for an offering time (if available).
    2. Continue to check back on Workday for updated offering times.
    3. Look for information about upcoming trainings and offerings in the Data & Analytics Community (Microsoft Teams).
